Short Tail Keyword Research

Image
Short-tail keywords, often referred to as "head" keywords, are brief and more generic terms that usually consist of one or two words. Conducting research on short-tail keywords is an essential part of any SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategy as they are high-volume and highly competitive terms.

Long Tail Keyword Research

Long-tail keywords are longer and more specific keyword phrases compared to shorter, more common "head" keywords. They are highly targeted and typically consist of three or more words. The term "long tail" comes from the graphical representation of these keywords on a distribution curve, where the head represents the more popular, broader terms and the tail represents the less frequently searched, more niche-specific terms.

KGR Keyword Research

The Keyword Golden Ratio (KGR) is a concept in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) developed by Doug Cunnington. It's a technique used to identify low-competition, long-tail keywords that can potentially rank quickly on search engines, particularly Google. The KGR formula helps SEOs and content creators find keywords with low competition relative to their search volume. The idea is to focus on keywords where the ratio between the number of Google search results (competition) and the search volume is favorable. The KGR formula is calculated as follows: KGR = (Number of Google Search Results with Keyword in Title) / Monthly Search Volume The basic premise is to find keywords where the ratio of the number of search results (in which the keyword appears in the title) to the monthly search volume is less than 0.25. If the ratio is less than 0.25, it's considered an indicator that the keyword might be less competitive and potentially easier to rank for.
