KGR Keyword Research

The Keyword Golden Ratio (KGR) is a concept in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) developed by Doug Cunnington. It's a technique used to identify low-competition, long-tail keywords that can potentially rank quickly on search engines, particularly Google.

The KGR formula helps SEOs and content creators find keywords with low competition relative to their search volume. The idea is to focus on keywords where the ratio between the number of Google search results (competition) and the search volume is favorable.

The KGR formula is calculated as follows:

KGR = (Number of Google Search Results with Keyword in Title) / Monthly Search Volume

The basic premise is to find keywords where the ratio of the number of search results (in which the keyword appears in the title) to the monthly search volume is less than 0.25. If the ratio is less than 0.25, it's considered an indicator that the keyword might be less competitive and potentially easier to rank for.
